Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2012, the North Carolina Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone male population was 973,085; and represented 20.48% of the total North Carolina male population in 2012.

Mecklenburg County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone male population (135,039), followed by Wake County (89,740), and Guilford County (74,996).

On the other hand, Graham County had the lowest Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone male population (12), followed by Mitchell County (37), and Clay County (47).
