According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2023, the number of deaths for Alaska was 5,597. Anchorage had the highest number of deaths (2,202), followed by Matanuska-Susitna (851), and Fairbanks North Star (613). On the other hand, Yakutat had the lowest number of deaths (2), followed by Bristol Bay (3), and Skagway (6).
