Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2015, among all North Carolina counties, Bertie County had the highest percentage of its population who identified their ethnicity as Non-Hispanic Black or African American (61.58%), followed by Hertford County (60.02%), and Northampton County (57.67%).
