Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2011, among all North Carolina counties, Bertie County had the highest percentage of its population who identified their ethnicity as Non-Hispanic Black or African American (61.88%), followed by Hertford County (60.17%), and Northampton County (58.14%).
