According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2023, the net migration for Illinois was 10,947. Will County had the highest net migration (2,644) followed by Kendall County (1,873), and Champaign County (1,181). On the other hand, Macon County had the lowest net migration (-428), followed by St. Clair County (-420), and McLean County (-326).
Net migration for a county refers to the difference between the number of migrants, both domestic and international, moving to the county and those leaving the county. Or to put it simply, the net migration for a given county is the inbound migration minus the outbound migration for that county.
