Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2019, the US Non-Hispanic Black or African American Alone citizen population was 38,658,365 and represented 12.78% of the total US citizen population.

Among all US states and DC, Texas had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (3.21M), followed by Georgia (3.19M), and Florida (2.97M).

In terms of percentages, District of Columbia had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (48.12%), followed by Mississippi (38.10%), and Louisiana (32.75%).
