Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2023, the US Non-Hispanic Black or African American Alone citizen population was 39,005,660 and represented 12.57% of the total US citizen population.

Among all US states and DC, Texas had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (3.42M), followed by Georgia (3.31M), and Florida (3.06M).

In terms of percentages, District of Columbia had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (44.96%), followed by Mississippi (37.43%), and Georgia (32.41%).
