Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2024, the US Non-Hispanic Black or African American Alone citizen population was 38,983,198 and represented 12.49% of the total US citizen population.

Among all US states and DC, Texas had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (3.49M), followed by Georgia (3.32M), and Florida (3.09M).

In terms of percentages, District of Columbia had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (44.27%), followed by Mississippi (36.94%), and Georgia (32.23%).
