Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2018, the US Non-Hispanic Black or African American Alone citizen population was 38,402,375 and represented 12.78% of the total US citizen population.

Among all US states and DC, Texas had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (3.16M), followed by Georgia (3.14M), and Florida (2.93M).

In terms of percentages, District of Columbia had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (48.99%), followed by Mississippi (38.07%), and Louisiana (32.74%).
