Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2016, the US Non-Hispanic Black or African American Alone citizen population was 37,790,820 and represented 12.75% of the total US citizen population.

Among all US states and DC, Georgia had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (3.05M), followed by Texas (3.04M), and Florida (2.84M).

In terms of percentages, District of Columbia had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (50.31%), followed by Mississippi (37.90%), and Louisiana (32.67%).
