Based on the US Census Bureau's special tabulation from the ACS 5-year estimates, in 2010, the US Non-Hispanic Black or African American Alone citizen population was 35,826,240 and represented 12.71% of the total US citizen population.

Among all US states and DC, Georgia had the highest Non-Hispanic Black Alone citizen population (2.79M), followed by Texas (2.75M), and Florida (2.54M).

In terms of percentages, District of Columbia had the highest percentage of its citizen population being Non-Hispanic Black Alone (55.32%), followed by Mississippi (37.38%), and Louisiana (32.15%).
