Clutch Overheating May Cause Fire

Carrier Corporation (Carrier) is recalling certain Carrier Transicold refrigeration units, Supra models 950, 950MT, and 960. The centrifugal clutch may overheat under certain conditions break apart.

Consequence Summary:

Hot components from the clutch assembly may fall onto nearby flammable materials, such as leaves or other debris, increasing the risk of a fire.

Corrective Action:

Dealers will replace the panels around the clutch, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 9, 2023. Owners may contact Carrier customer service at 1-800-448-1661.
