According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2023, the net migration rate per 1,000 population for Maine was 9.94. Piscataquis County had the highest net migration rate per 1,000 population (15.77), followed by Oxford County (14.26), and Penobscot County (13.76). On the other hand, Knox County had the lowest net migration rate per 1,000 population (0.9), followed by Cumberland County (7.04), and Aroostook County (7.16).
