HATS Category VIII: Stunning Effectiveness On October 11, 2022, at Hometown Butcher, Est. #9112M, while performing Humane Handling Verification Tasks, approximately 13:10, establishment personnel moved a beef into the stunning chute. An initial stun attempt with a 410 shotgun was delivered and observed to contact the animal but was ineffective. The beef remained standing with conscious eye tracking. The stunner delivered an immediate and effective corrective action utilizing a second shot from the same firearm, rendering the beef insensible, and it remained so thereafter. The stunning chute was rejected using Tag # B-45241302. Establishment owner, REDACTED was notified of the non-compliance and of the regulatory control action.
