Emergency Exit Label May Detach/FMVSS 217

Volvo Bus Corporation (Volvo Bus) is recalling certain 2025 Volvo 9700 buses. The emergency exit labels that provide exit identification and operating instructions may not be secured properly, allowing the labels to detach. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."

Missing emergency exit labels can prevent or delay the use of the emergency exit, increasing the risk of injury.
Corrective Action:
Prevost will replace the emergency exit labels, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed December 19, 2024. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Volvo Bus' number for this recall is SR24-86.

Steering Gear Link Rod Improperly Tightened

Volvo Bus Corporation (Volvo Bus) is recalling certain 2024 Volvo 9700 vehicles. The castellated nuts securing the steering gear link rod to the steering arm and/or the pitman arm may not have been tightened properly, which can allow it to loosen.

Steering Gear Link Rod May Loosen and Detach

Volvo Bus Corporation (Volvo Bus) is recalling certain 2024 Volvo 9700 vehicles. The castellated nut securing the steering gear link rod to the steering arm may be loose and allow the link rod to detach.

Corrective Action:
Owners are advised not to drive their vehicle until the repair has been performed. Prevost will inspect and tighten the castellated nuts and install new cotter pins as necessary, free of charge.
