Emergency Exit Handle Wire May Break/FMVSS 217

Temsa is recalling certain 2014-2020 TS45 buses. The external release handle for the roof emergency exit may have a rusted wire, which could break when force is applied to open the exit. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."

A broken handle wire on the emergency exit can delay passengers from exiting the vehicle during an emergency, increasing their risk of injury.
Corrective Action:
Temsa service centers will replace the external handle wire, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 12, 2021. Owners may contact Temsa customer service at 1-800-625-9319.

High Pressure Fuel Rail Assembly May Leak Fuel

Temsa is recalling certain 2018-2021 TS35 and 2018-2020 TS45 vehicles. The sealing washer may not seat correctly in the pilot bore holes, allowing the high pressure fuel rail assembly to leak.

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.
Corrective Action:
Cummins will inspect the rail threads and fuel lines, and replace the rail as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 30, 2021. Owners may contact Temsa customer service at 1-800-625-9319.
