Underlift Boom may Drift Down

Jerr-Dan Corporation (Jerr-Dan) is recalling certain model year 2010 Standard Duty MPL-NGS, MPL-NG and MPL40 Wreckers manufactured August 3, 2010, through September 30, 2010. In the affected vehicles, the underlift boom tilt cylinder may drift down while a vehicle is being towed.

Consequence Summary:
If the underlift boom tilt cylinder drifts down during towing, the vehicle that is being towed may contact the road surface, increasing the risk of the vehicle crash.
Corrective Action:
Jerr-Dan will notify owners and dealers will replace the underlift tilt circuit counterbalance valve, free of charge. The recall began on April 24, 2015. Owners may contact Jerr-Dan customer service at 1-800-926-9666. Note: This recall is an expansion of 14V-248.
