Incorrect Tire Identification Number/FMVSS 574

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company (Goodyear) is recalling certain Hercules Terra Trac AT X-Venture tires, size LT265/75R16. The tires contain a tire identification number (TIN) that is missing the 4-digit week and year code mark. As such, these tires fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 574, "Tire Identification & Recordkeeping."

Consequence Summary:
The inability to determine the production date of a tire can result in prolonged usage of a tire that should be replaced, or unknowingly using a tire that has been recalled. Either of these situations can increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action:
Dealers will replace the tires, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 26, 2024. Owners may contact Goodyear customer service at 1-800-592-3267.

As such, these tires fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 574, "Tire Identification & Recordkeeping."
