According to data from the CDC, in 2017, 28.8% of old adults in California were Obese, with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or more.

Gender: The percentage of old adults who were obese was the following per gender: Male (29.9%), and Female (27.7%).

Race and Ethnicity: The percentage of old adults who were obese included the following per race and ethnicity: Hispanic or Latino (39.3%), Non-Hispanic Black or African American (37.6%), and Non-Hispanic White (26.2%).
