According to data from the CDC, the overall number of fatal drug overdose deaths in the US for all drugs was 48,260, and the age adjusted overdose death rate per 100,000 persons was 31.3 based on data from 34 jurisdictions. The following types of drugs were among the drugs that were involved with high number of overdose deaths: Any Opioids (39,959), Illegally-made Fentanyls (33,694), Any stimulants (23,163), and Cocaine (12,062).
