Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2014, the 2,090,236 population of New Mexico comprised of 1,002,463 people who identified as Hispanic (47.96%), and 1,087,773 people who identified as Non-Hispanic (52.04%).

Race: The White Alone population was the largest racial group in New Mexico, with a population of 1,727,478 (82.65%). American Indian and Alaska Native Alone population was the second largest racial group in New Mexico, with a population of 222,203 (10.63%). Black or African American Alone population was the third largest racial group in New Mexico, with a population of 51,353 (2.46%).

Ethnicity: The White Alone - Hispanic population was the largest ethnic group in New Mexico, with a population of 919,835 (44.01%).
