According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2023, the net migration rate per 1,000 population for Washington was 6.36. Wahkiakum County had the highest net migration rate per 1,000 population (23.9), followed by Pend Oreille County (23.43), and Klickitat County (20.84). On the other hand, Adams County had the lowest net migration rate per 1,000 population (-6.95), followed by Island County (-2.39), and San Juan County (-1.98).

Net migration rate for a county refers to the difference between the number of migrants, both domestic and international, moving to the county and those leaving the county per 1,000 of the county's mid-year population.
