Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2023, the White Alone population in Montana was 1,004,899 and represented 88.71% of the total Montana population (1,132,812).

Among Montana counties, Yellowstone County had the highest number of people who identified as White Alone (153,215), followed by Gallatin County (119,031), and Missoula County (111,229). Petroleum County had the lowest (534).
