Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2012, the Black or African American Alone male population in Virginia was 770,839 and represented 19.17% of the total Virginia male population (4,022,193).

Among Virginia counties, Fairfax County had the highest Black or African American Alone male population (52,408), followed by Norfolk city (51,436), and Richmond city (48,897).
