Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2016, the Black or African American Alone male population in Illinois was 885,474 and represented 14.06% of the total Illinois male population (6,297,836).

Among Illinois counties, Cook County had the highest Black or African American Alone male population (576,881), followed by Will County (40,070), and St. Clair County (36,864).
