According to the US Census Bureau estimates, in 2011, the number of births for the United States was 3,973,485. California had the highest number of births (509,748), followed by Texas (381,711), and New York (243,117). On the other hand, Vermont had the lowest number of births (6,057), followed by Wyoming (7,469), and District of Columbia (9,196).
