United States Hate Crime Offenses By Crime Type in 1992

According to the FBI UCR data, in 1992, there were 8,411 Hate Crime Offenses in the US. Intimidation was the highest type of hate crime committed (3,049), and constituted 36.25% of the total number of offenses. The second highest hate crime offense committed was Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property (1,977), constituting 23.51% of the total. The third highest hate crime offense commited was Simple Assault (1,608), constituting 19.12% of the total.

NB: Hate Crimes are criminal offenses that were motivated, in whole or in part, by the offender's bias against the victim's race/ethnicity/ancestry, gender, gender identity, religion, disability, or sexual orientation, and were committed against persons, property, or society.
