According to the FBI UCR data, in 2024, there were 6,296 adult arrests made in the US for murder and nonnegligent manslaughter offenses.

By Race: The highest number of those arrested were identified as Black or African American (3.84K), followed by White (2.26K), and Asian (93).

By Ethnicity: Ethnicity information was reported for 5,331 (85%) of those arrested. Among those for whom ethnicity was reported, the highest number were identified as Not Hispanic or Latino (4.21K), followed by Hispanic or Latino (1.13K).
