Ball Joint Disengaging from Upper Control Arm

Cognito Motorsports (Cognito) is recalling certain Rev C Ball Joints with part number 91253, for installation on 2011-2025 GMC and Chevrolet 2500HD and 3500HD trucks. The ball stud may pull through the housing, causing the upper control arm to disengage.

Consequence Summary:

An upper control arm that disengages can cause a loss of steering, increasing the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action:

Owners are advised not to drive their trucks until the repair has been completed. Cognito will inspect and repair or replace the ball joints, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 27, 2025. Owners may contact Cognito customer service at 1-888-891-5488 or by email at recall@cognitomotorsports.com.
