NORMALLY, WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS DEPRESSED, THE ACCELERATOR PUMP IS ACTIVATED TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL GASOLINE REQUIRED FOR ACCELERATION. A DISTORTED SEAL HOWEVER, MAY PREVENT THE PUMP FROM DELIVERING THE PROPER AMOUNT OF FUEL.
