Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2011, there were 693,980 people that identified as Non-Hispanic White alone in South Dakota and they represented 84.25% of the total population of South Dakota in 2011. Minnehaha County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic White alone population (147,542), followed by Pennington County (83,601), and Lincoln County (44,484). On the other hand, Buffalo County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic White alone (297), followed by Oglala Lakota County (442), and Ziebach County (678).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic White alone, Faulk County had the highest percentage (98.05%), followed by McPherson County (97.84%), and Hand County (97.82%).
