Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2015, there were 1,147,839 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in New Jersey and they represented 12.94% of the total population of New Jersey in 2015. Essex County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (309,127), followed by Union County (116,542), and Camden County (94,142).
