Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2016, there were 17,615 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in New Hampshire and they represented 1.31% of the total population of New Hampshire in 2016. Hillsborough County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (9,402), followed by Rockingham County (2,205), and Merrimack County (2,079). On the other hand, Carroll County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (217), followed by Sullivan County (266), and Coos County (275).
