Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2021, there were 109,807 people that identified as Non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native alone in North Carolina and they represented 1.04% of the total population of North Carolina in 2021. Robeson County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native alone population (46,092), followed by Cumberland County (4,963), and Scotland County (4,094). On the other hand, Tyrrell County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native alone (12), followed by Hyde County (21), and Washington County (32).
