Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2023, there were 191,053 people that identified as Non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native alone in New Mexico and they represented 9.04% of the total population of New Mexico in 2023. McKinley County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native alone population (52,178), followed by San Juan County (48,362), and Bernalillo County (31,479).
