Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2021, there were 344,942 people that identified as Hispanic Black or African American alone in California and they represented 0.88% of the total population of California in 2021. Los Angeles County had the highest number of Hispanic Black or African American alone population (102,201), followed by San Bernardino County (29,212), and San Diego County (27,567). On the other hand, Alpine County had the lowest number of Hispanic Black or African American alone (0), followed by Sierra County (7), and Plumas County (16).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Hispanic Black or African American alone, San Bernardino County had the highest percentage (1.33%), followed by Fresno County (1.26%), and San Joaquin County (1.21%).
