According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, there were 234,828 people in Colorado who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 4.07% of the total population of Colorado. Arapahoe County had the highest number of people who identify as Black or African American Alone (70,787), followed by Denver County (64,038), and El Paso County (43,822). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identify as Black or African American Alone were: Jackson County (0), Cheyenne County (1), and San Juan County (3).

In terms of the percentage of each county's total population, Arapahoe County had the highest percentage, with 10.81% of its population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by Denver County (8.95%), and Crowley County (8.73%).
