Arkansas Black or African American Alone Population By County in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, in April 2020, there were 453,783 people in Arkansas who identified their race as Black or African American Alone, which is 15.07% of the total population of Arkansas. Pulaski County had the highest number of people who identify as Black or African American Alone (143,548), followed by Jefferson County (37,835), and Crittenden County (25,905). On the other hand, the three counties with the least number of people who identify as Black or African American Alone were: Searcy County (5), Newton County (7), and Montgomery County (18).

In terms of the percentage of each county's total population, Phillips County had the highest percentage, with 62.43% of its population identifying their race as Black or African American Alone, followed by Jefferson County (56.25%), and St. Francis County (54.40%).
