Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2020, the Black or African American Alone population in Minnesota was 414,140 and represented 7.25% of the total Minnesota population (5,710,578).

Among Minnesota counties, Hennepin County had the highest number of people who identified as Black or African American Alone (179,939), followed by Ramsey County (72,807), and Dakota County (34,953). Lincoln County had the lowest (16).
