United States Hate Crime Offenses By Crime Type in 2009
According to the FBI UCR data, in 2009, there were 8,302 Hate Crime Offenses in the US. Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property was the highest type of hate crime committed (2,721), and constituted 32.78% of the total number of offenses. The second highest hate crime offense committed was Intimidation (2,207), constituting 26.58% of the total. The third highest hate crime offense commited was Simple Assault (1,760), constituting 21.20% of the total.
