United States Hate Crime Offenses By Crime Type in 2007
According to the FBI UCR data, in 2007, there were 9,719 Hate Crime Offenses in the US. Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property was the highest type of hate crime committed (3,279), and constituted 33.74% of the total number of offenses. The second highest hate crime offense committed was Intimidation (2,655), constituting 27.32% of the total. The third highest hate crime offense commited was Simple Assault (1,775), constituting 18.26% of the total.
