United States Hate Crime Offenses By Crime Type in 2006
According to the FBI UCR data, in 2006, there were 9,736 Hate Crime Offenses in the US. Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property was the highest type of hate crime committed (3,305), and constituted 33.95% of the total number of offenses. The second highest hate crime offense committed was Intimidation (2,572), constituting 26.42% of the total. The third highest hate crime offense commited was Simple Assault (1,768), constituting 18.16% of the total.
