United States Hate Crime Offenses By Crime Type in 2005
According to the FBI UCR data, in 2005, there were 8,450 Hate Crime Offenses in the US. Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property was the highest type of hate crime committed (2,848), and constituted 33.70% of the total number of offenses. The second highest hate crime offense committed was Intimidation (2,406), constituting 28.47% of the total. The third highest hate crime offense commited was Simple Assault (1,468), constituting 17.37% of the total.
