United States Hate Crime Offenses By Crime Type in 2004
According to the FBI UCR data, in 2004, there were 7,348 Hate Crime Offenses in the US. Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property was the highest type of hate crime committed (2,722), and constituted 37.04% of the total number of offenses. The second highest hate crime offense committed was Intimidation (2,203), constituting 29.98% of the total. The third highest hate crime offense commited was Simple Assault (1,209), constituting 16.45% of the total.
