United States Hate Crime Offenses By Crime Type in 2003
According to the FBI UCR data, in 2003, there were 7,177 Hate Crime Offenses in the US. Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property was the highest type of hate crime committed (2,464), and constituted 34.33% of the total number of offenses. The second highest hate crime offense committed was Intimidation (2,257), constituting 31.45% of the total. The third highest hate crime offense commited was Simple Assault (1,312), constituting 18.28% of the total.
