US Unemployment Rate By State in January, 2022

According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of the US was 4% (sa) in January, 2022. Among all US states and DC, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates: District of Columbia (5.9%), New Mexico (5.4%), and Alaska (5.2%).

On the hand, the following three states were among those with low unemployment rates: South Dakota (1.9%), Nebraska (2%), and Utah (2.2%).
