US Unemployment Rate By State in March, 2009

According to data from the US BLS, the unemployment rate of the US was 8.7% (sa) in March, 2009. Among all US states and DC, these 3 were among those with high unemployment rates: Michigan (12.7%), California (10.8%), and North Carolina (10.8%).

On the hand, the following three states were among those with low unemployment rates: North Dakota (4%), Nebraska (4.5%), and South Dakota (4.6%).
