Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the Poverty Rate for the United States was 12.63%.
By Race: The American Indian & Alaska Native Alone racial group had the highest poverty rate in the United States (23.40%), followed by Black Alone (21.72%), and Some Other Race Alone (19.06%). The racial group with the lowest poverty rate was White Alone (10.29%).
By Ethnicity: The poverty rate of the Hispanic or Latino of All Races ethnicity group was (17.71%), and that of the Non-Hispanic White Alone ethnicity group was (9.22%).
