Based on the US Census ACS-5Yrs estimates, in 2021, the number of employed US civilians (16 years and over) who were employed as Photographers was 176,698 (i.e. 0.11% of all civilian employees). Among those employed as Photographers, 52.30% were Males, and 47.70% were Females.
The median earnings for all Photographers was $45,603, which was 16.81% less than the median earnings for all US civilian employees. The median earnings of Female Photographers was 34.06% less than that of their male counterparts.
